The Process
Contact me to set up an interview. We can meet by phone, in person, or virtually. Tell me about yourself, what you envision, and ask me any questions you might have. I will tell you about the services I offer and ask you some questions as well. Next, I'll send you a link to the company I contract with for pricing and logistics. The process is streamlined so all of your needs are met!

Prenatal Support
This is the time we get to know one another. We will talk about your vision of what your pregnancy and birth looks like. I will share resources and evidence based information to facilitate you making the best decisions for your family.
I will be on-call 24/7 to answer questions, address physical or emotional changes you are experiencing, or discuss any concerns you might have.
We will practice some birth positions and exercises to help balance your body and prepare you for birth. And, I will help you create a birth preferences guide to share with your care givers.

Birth Support
I will provide continuous support from the time you are in active labor until you have delivered your baby and have had skin to skin contact. I will assist you in breastfeeding your newborn if that is your choice, and help you get settled in.
During labor I will provide emotional and physical support, help advocate for your vision, help you frame questions and understand answers when communicating with your care team, suggest evidence-based labor and pushing positions for best outcomes, and offer support and suggestions for your partner as well.
I will be 100% devoted to your needs and comfort.
After 12 hours of continuous birth support an hourly charge of $30 will be added.

Postpartum Visit
During the first week (or when you are ready) I will visit you in your home. We will review your birth experience and I will answer questions you may have or refresh your memory. This is your story to tell, but I will help fill in the blanks.
Having an experienced professional birth worker in the comfort of your home provides a safe space to discuss how you are feeling physically and emotionally, and how you and your family are adjusting, At a time when you are feeling most vulnerable this can be invaluable. I will provide you with evidence based information on newborn care, and offer any resources you might need for your family. Finally, I will remain available to you by text or phone for the first month after birth.
50% of cost will be due at signing of contract. The remainder will be due at 37 weeks.

Fourth Trimester-Bringing Baby Home
Daytime postpartum doula care helps families transition to life with a new baby. It may include physical and emotional recovery, instruction and modeling of newborn feeding, bathing, and sleeping strategies, as well as logistical household support such as helping with laundry, preparing meals, and caring for baby while the parents catch up on much needed sleep, or including an older child in this process. A doula can accompany the parent to doctors appointments, the grocery store, or on walks with baby. She can also help identify signs of postpartum depression and offer resources. Postpartum care looks different according to each family's needs. All daytime shifts are 4-hour minimums.
Overnight support includes bottle feeding or bringing baby to feed with the parent, changing diapers, and playing with or calming baby when they are awake. Logistical support is reserved for daytime. Overnight shifts are a minimum of 8 hours, and un-consecutive shifts.
You can create the package you need depending on how many days per week, time of day/evening, and hours of care per shift. This may vary from week to week based on your needs.
